Julia Elsas is a graduate of the studio art department at Carleton College, and has studied extensively at the Penland School of Crafts, with a focus on papermaking and bookbinding. Elsas’s work is included in a 2005-2006 group exhibition titled Crosscurrents, that showcases twenty-four contemporary artists working in North Carolina. This show will travel to both the North Carolina Museum of Art in Raleigh, NC and the Mint Museum in Charlotte, NC. In addition to North Carolina her work has been exhibited in Seattle, San Francisco, and New York.
